These two online workshop offers an introduction to Restorative Practice, the philosophy, motivation and skills. We will focus on understanding, identifying and transforming difficult emotions such as anger and shame and explore the transformative potential of restorative language and how it cultivates empathy and connection.
We will highlight a trauma-informed lens, seeking to move conversations beyond behaviour management and towards the importance of connection and relationships. This understanding may be especially relevant in a time when trauma is now a collective as well as an individual experience that our schools need to process. Relationships are and always have been key! Reconnecting and building responsive relationships are at the heart of a restorative approach and what our students need now more than ever.
We will make these online sessions as engaging, relational and interactive as possible, seeking to model the positive connections we are promoting.
